Robert Luebbert, US Army and National Guard veteran, was presented with the Vietnam War medal, medallion and certificate as part of the Missouri Veterans Recognition War Medallion Program. Created in 2000, the program's purpose is to honor Missouri veterans. Congratulations Mr. Luebbert and thank you for your service!

As a Vietnam combat vet, I have mixed feelings abou this. On the one hand, I think that VETERAN's Day is sufficient for Nam Vets and any other Vet. While this Veteran's recognition day is ... okay, I don't feel that it is necessary.
To me, ALL Veterans, regardless of theater or whether or not they've deployed are EQUALLY deserving of thanks or recognition. I feel, somewhat, that a specific day is "too late," even if well intended.

SSG Bill McCoy Agree. After years of coming to grips with our social scars, these last several years of effusive recognition efforts seem more about virtue signaling than veterans. Veteran's Day and Memorial Day is enough. We don't need to be competing with National Pickle Week or Trans Appreciation Day or whatever. The glow I come away with from our g'daughter's School's Veterans Day carries me thru the year.

Agree. Vietnam Combat Vet. No one has given recognition. We served, fought like mad rats, came home and were shunned. Screw ‘em all. Was highly trained to hunt and kill humans, and was very good at it. Did what I had to to survive. Somehow made it home. Was a long time ago, but like yesterday. If called again, I would go - even though I am too old (according to some) but still maintain skills even after all these years. Recon.
