I'm completely pro-2A, but I think this is sensible. I'm totally down with most of those under 21 having guns being in the military. Though, to pull it off, other giant companies would have to follow suit. Besides, parents (who are going to be the best judges of a kid's temperament) can still buy them for them.

Greg, I'm the last one to want anyone to be harmed, but when the weapon is bought legally, why move the age up? This won't dissuade anyone from getting one from their parents, off FB, or any internet site. Most of these are bought from a local shop, so Walmart is only driving business their way. I'd have to see the numbers of the weapons sold to say it it'll have an effect on their bottom line. Hell when I go to Walmart I've never seen an AR variant in there. Shotguns, some pistols, but nothing "heavy". Hell you can't even ask an "expert" on what is the best ammo for a particular weapon. Dicks won't sell weapons anymore, and again what is the effect on the bottom line? They have "Ammo" on this when Trump and "Lil" Marco both have mentioned raising the age to 21, yet "Lil" Marco has a bill now that goes against his own idea of raising it to 21.

They don't want to make it illegal for 18-20 year olds to possess as that would hurt our military and God forbid these old fucks that start wars getting off their asses and picking up a rifle. To me changing these laws sends a message to this age bracket that they do not matter and are disposable. Sorry for the language.

If you buy with the intent or giving it to someone who is not otherwise qualified to purchase, it is a straw purchase. However, it's very hard to prove intent. More importantly though, that serial number is still yours....sooooo up to you sir.

I suspect that this will inspire a lawsuit or two. Stores can't make and enforce their own laws.
