A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Hi Rick. My husband, Antonio, an Ecuadorian, told me that Ecuadorian students must take English all 12 grades of public school. So, going down there, I thought I'd find all young people fluent in English. Not so. I'd ask, "¿Se habla inglés?" The response was always, "No." Then, Antonio clarified that the teachers of English aren't very good in the language and the students, in general, aren't interested in learning it. I responded, "Evidently, it's not communicated to the students that English is becoming a universal language and learning the English language would open so many doors to and for them."

From Kindergarten Their English Programs Begin.... With Each Passing Year More English Classes Are ADDED, Including In Sciences & Chemistry.... In Their Senor Year ALL Classes Are Taught In English....... Seniors Are NOT Permitted To Speak ANY English Anywhere On School Property .... Punishable By Being Expelled For Period Of 1 Day ~ 2 Weeks..
As A Result THEY Speak English Better Than WE.... AND BTW: ALL Teachers MUST Be Graduates Of BALL STATE UNIVERSITY, With Their Teaching Certificates
