It seems as though the victim was shot by a black police officer and a gun was recovered at the scene. Given the violence in the aftermath of the initial video released (and subsequent violence) is it time to realize the media is driving a divisive false narrative?

Trusting the press is like trusting a hooker. They both work for money. And both tell you want they you to hear.

And both may lead you down a dark alley and steal your wallet...or give you some kind of incurable disease (such as the "super-clap" or stupidity)

However, at least you can feel satisfied after the hooker's attentions.

Doesn't matter. I still see idiots with "Hands up; Don't shoot" shirts and have seen clips on the news in Charlotte of a guy holding up a sign with that lie that BLM continues to perpetuate. Despite the fact that the Eric Holder's bias ass concluded that "Hands up; Don't shoot" situation never occurred, and that the shooting of Michael brown was legitimate, the myth persists.

I contend that where it matters is that the media is driving these narratives and they are leading to social unrest at a level this country has not experienced before. I am all for freedom of the press (huge supporter of the Constitution), but at some point there has to be some culpability.

To be taken seriously people have to be discerning as to who's cause they champion. There are plenty of clear cut situations where force was improperly used to make their point and drive change. However, when they champion the cases of people who are clearly thugs, whose life testament is violence and crime, who finally die at the hands of police instead of their fellow thugs, you cast aside the power you have. George Zimmerman misjudged that kid's reaction and found himself under attack and had to defend his life. His injuries were consistent with his side of the story, he clearly was assaulted by the deceased and the nature of the injuries showed the savageness of the attack. You bust a guy's nose, one might say mutual combat, didn't rise to the seriousness that elicits lethal force. Slamming someone's head on the sidewalk repeatedly is attempted murder. Nearly every killing move we were taught in the Corps ends the same way, stomping on the enemy's head. If you are trying to crack someone's skull open you are trying to kill them, period. The media showed us pictures of sweet little Michael Brown who looked like such a nice boy. Except the pictures were three years old. Recent photos showed a large young man with a menacing look in his eyes. He looked like the type of kid you see at night and decide to let him get a few blocks ahead cause he looks like trouble. He was recorded on video committing a strong-arm robbery for crying out loud. This was no sweet kid. He attacked a cop. There were several black witnesses that testified to that. Yet they keep trotting him out like he's the best shot they've got. Folks need to forget about Michael Brown and concentrate on cases like the 50 year old man who panicked and ran from a traffic stop and got shot in the back. Everybody who has seen that video can clearly say that was completely unjustifiable. That's the face that should replace Michael Brown's in my opinion. It carries a lot more weight. Or the 70 year old visitor from India whose crime was standing on a residential sidewalk in front of his son's house having a cigarette, and not being able to speak English. He got driven into the pavement by a psycho cop and was hospitalized. He was our guest!! BLM should put his name and face on their posters, he did absolutely nothing wrong and posed no threat to anyone. Wait, wrong color. Doesn't fit the narrative.

Not since there has been a 24hr news cycle and the media realized how influential in politics they could be if they just "massaged" the facts.
