Anyone got any good Races planned?
Wife & I just signed up for the Navy & Air Force Half Marathon. We'll also be doing MC Historic Half, and hopefully MC Marathon (Lottery now), and Army 10 Miler.

I'm running my first Marathon in November in Savannah, GA. I've run 3 half marathons before but i'm looking forward to finally knocking out a full marathon.

The big thing to remember is that it's a Mental Game, not a Physical one. There's a physical aspect to it, but mental preparation is hugely important.

Part of the mental game is confidence, knowing you are prepared. Get in at least three 20+ mile training runs and you will have the confidence you need to actually enjoy the marathon. Just don't get over excited and start too fast.

I had the pleasure of running the Marine Corps Marathon in 1997 to celebrate my first year of kicking the 20 year habit I had of smoking cigarettes. I never ran another, one was sufficient. Eighteen years later now I just run a nice easy 10:30 min/mile pace for two miles three days a week to stay physically fit and healthy. I bump up the pace once a year to an 18:00 two mile for my required APFT score.
