The most basic truth in this essay is that most "Americans" ignore politics. I did. Why? I didn't want anything from the government except to stay out of my way and leave me alone. So, I ignored politics until I realized it wasn't doing that, staying out of my way and leaving me alone. Once upon a time, it did. Not so much any more. Sadly, there are many living in the United States who are not Americans. Millions are here illegally. Millions more "just visiting". An countless millions more who were natural born citizens who were denied their heritage of a basic education that would prepare them to live as free citizens taking responsibility for themselves. They desire a government that doesn't stay out of their way, doesn't leave them alone. They want a government that will take care of them, make decisions for them, take responsibility for the results. It seems that we are pretty evenly divided these days between those who are Americans and those who are something else, and therein lies the problem. The division is becoming an abysss, and it's a dark and scary thing...

This would make a great article. Government was meant to be one thing and now it’s everything and everywhere.

LTC (Join to see) - Our government was meant to be one thing (limited)... Hillsdale College has an excellent free, online course that gets to the heart of the matter: Congress, How it worked and why it doesn't

Hillsdale is the greatest. I receive their monthly hard copy publication. They have some great conservative guest columnists.

Lt Col Charlie Brown, this article came out recently (I’m pretty sure someone on RP posted it). I realize it’s on a different subject, but again, ignorance is the key. In addition to the mainstream media controlling what’s presented, our educational institutions are deeply involved in the “change America” philosophy.
It’s difficult, if not impossible, to fight this leftist agenda at every level.

I’d like to say I agree, CPT Jack Durish, but I’m not so sure. I’ll accept the “BUT” for now, but my confidence level is so far below yours as to be indiscernible.
