So a long time ago we got to go see the Little Mermaid. The locals, for some reason, keep cutting her head off. But us tourists love her! So on the 100th anniversary of that Sculpture of the Little Mermaid ( the Model for it was his wife!), they got another Artist to make a more modern rendition of the "little Mermaid." And this time, the Artist talked his Niece into modeling for it.
Well, needles to say, the second one caused a bit of a stir.
It showed how beauty had changed over a century. From a tiny slip of a woman to a Valkyrie Viking Full Figured Woman.
After the second sculpture caused an outpouring of negative comments from Tourists (The Locals just thought it was a nice statue) The City moved it to an obscure off the path shopping area.
Teen age boys giggle at the first sculpture...and ogle the second one for a long time. I barely notice the difference at all. LOL
