The very important Battle of Trenton occurred on 26 Dec. 1776 in Trenton, N.J. It gave Washington's Continental Army a victory at a very critical time.

Coming as it did in the dead of winter, Washington's assault caught the defenders completely by surprise.

Washington really needed this victory. He did not have a lot of "big" wins. But he did continue to hang on, harassing the British at every opportunity, cutting supply and communication lines. It was a long war but tenacity won the day. That with the help of the French.

Correct. Like Ho Chi Minh, Washington employed a Fabian strategy to defeat his larger foe.
