It's been a while since I have done any creative writing. Between last year's election and RallyPoint, I've been too distracted. Thus, this is my first short story that I've written since some time in 2015. It's fun to be back in the saddle again. I'm sharing it on RallyPoint because if has a military slant to it that I hope you'll enjoy.
Would you like a little coffee with your sugar?

SN Greg Wright - Get up for the mid watch on a submarine and draw a cup of coffee that has been condensing for a few hours, use a paper towel to remove the skim of hydraulic oil floating on it. But, on the bright side, it did keep you awake.

A friend of mine opened up a "third wave" cafe up in San Francisco. He would describe Starbucks coffee as "burnt turpentine with an after-finish reminiscent of rusty nails"! Lol

I always thought it smelled like old tires. Take a lot of foo foo to hide that.

Jack, I will take some time this work week to read your short story. I'm a writer myself. Thanks for the link. Have a great week. I'll comment as time permits.

Great story!!! and I share your feeling about Starbucks. My parents were children of the late depression/WWII era. My dad would tell stories of shining shoes for the Army Air Corps in Jersey.
