About

We are the 354th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, a versatile communications unit in the Army Reserve located in Coraopolis, Pa. Our mission is to tell the Army Story to the public through various media and means of communication: broadcast, written articles, print publications, online blogs (such as this one) and photography.

  • Constituted 7 September 1956 in the Army Reserve as the 354th Public Affairs Information Field Service Detachment
  • Activated 3 October 1956 at York, Pennsylvania
  • Reorganized and redesignated 25 September 1958 as the 354th Public Information Detachment
  • Inactivated 1 August 1959 at York, Pennsylvania
  • Activated 1 February 1972 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Location changed 15 August 1975 to Oakdale, Pennsylvania
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 October 1976 as the 354th Public Affairs Detachment
  • Location changed 15 October 2001 to Coraopolis, Pennsylvania
  • Elements ordered into active military service 18 July 2002 at Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; released from active military service 20 May 2003 and reverted to reserve status
Ordered into active military service 25 February 2008 at Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; released from active military service 29 March 2009 and reverted to reserve status
