It's a good idea -- which will completely fail on the ground. The information presented doesn't give enough data to see how this is supposed to be implemented. Inherently there are three crew positions on a Bradley: Driver, gunner, and commander. It seems logical to identify those positions as needing specific training, but there aren't enough Bradley Crew Member positions in an Infantry unit to provide adequate progression. 19C's would need to become 11B to advance -- which is already the problem that causes the loss of Bradley skills.

The article says 19C will go to E7 (19C40), but are we going to have a 19C40 and an 11B40 in each mech infantry platoon?

OCOA is subservient to OCOI, which is going to make management of 19C career progression problematic.

Driver, Gunner, TC, and Loader. Did you believe the Bradley magically reloaded itself… or that once the expenditure of munitions the fighting unit retired off the battlefield? BVFs are crewed specifically for a combat reason; in an infantry unit, the Infantry soldiers are not the crew. One must know the procedures for gunnery to be a component fighting force. In a Scout Platoon (19D), you also have an additional Team Member, the Observer. Every Unit has specific duties.

SGT Nickolas Ortiz - Strange comment from a "Cavalry Scout" -- have you ever seen a Bradley? Neither the M2 Bradley nor the M3 Bradley CFV ever had a "loader" as part of the crew.

On the CFV you had a driver, gunner, commander, and two observers, the TO&E was later changed to have 3 observers. On the IFV you have a driver, gunner, commander, and six infantry. In both cases the driver, gunner, and commander are vehicle crew, and everyone else is a passenger.

On the CFV they are all 19D and there is a reasonable progression because the platoon of 6 Bradleys has has slots for: 12 PFC, 12 SPC, 6 SGT, 4 SSG, 1 PSG, and one has the Platoon Leader.

In the Infantry platoon of 4 Bradleys, currently everyone other than the platoon leader is an 11B, if the army creates a new MOS for the Bradley crews, you end up with crewman slots for: 7 SPC, 2 SGT, 2 SSG, and 1 PSG. (The platoon leader rides in the vehicle commander position while mounted but is not considered part of the crew because he is supposed to dismount with his infantry platoon, the platoon sergeant is considered a crewman because he is supposed to stay mounted and command the vehicles while the infantry are dismounted)
