I understand the entire process of getting a signed DD368 and whatnot. I am just curious about the medical side of things while at MEPS. I have heard if your medpros are all green then you don't have to do the medical process at MEPS. The problem I have is I used to be active duty and I applied for and received a VA disability rating when I got out, before going into the reserves. Is this going to stop everything in its tracks even though my medpros are green? Thanks for your time and please refrain from attacking me about fraudulent enlistment. I am not trying to hide anything. I am only going to do everything legitimately. That is why I want to clear everything up here. I also know that I cannot receive VA payments while on active duty so no need to drill me on that. Thanks again.

So on the MEPS side of things you’ll have to do a full blown physical all over again, your MEDPROS won’t matter. It will be like going through all over again from start to finish. ( I did the exact same thing in 2011) on the VA side of the house you’ll have to coordinate with the VA and essentially put your benefits on hold for the duration of time your own AD. Only good thing is when you get out, or retire, you get those benefits re-instated to start getting your payments again and can add to any new claims you may have. Hope that helps!

It’s my understanding, that once you get out, you’ll have to reapply for your disability rating. Shouldn’t be hard since they have all the documentation from your first application.

I transitioned from reserves to ad in 2018. Medpros was green, didn't do ANYTHING related to medical at meps. Only thing I did at meps was paperwork for my mos and reclass. Super easy. As far as you receiving va, I think if its below a certain %, you'll be ok as far as qualified to join. I'm not solid on that though

Also I should add get all your VA paperwork in order and be prepared to have a lot of documentation on the conditions for which you have ratings and get compensation for. It’s not a deal breaker by any means but be ready to have to get a lot of paperwork to provide to MEPS
