I'm just now picking back up my workout routine after tweaking my knee last month, thus only leaving me with three months until the start of my state's Traditional OCS. I feel like I should be able to get up to speed, but figured I would get the opinion of others who have completed the program.

If you are in reasonable shape, 3 months is adequate. IMHO.

Thank you Sir for the response. Besides my knee aggravating me, I feel as though I am in decent shape. I have been out of the Marine Corps for 6 years, but I have tried to maintain a decent in that time-frame.

You are a former marine and if you were any good, you got this.

Your biggest issue will be push ups. I think pull ups are harder yet many former marines have issues with push ups.

Sir, thank you for your response. I can attest to this statement since I used to be able to do twenty-one underhand pull-ups with minimal effort, while pull-ups have always been my kryptonite of sorts.

Besides just pumping out as many as I can daily, do you have any advice as to how to improve my pull-up numbers? I was focusing on form before bothering my shoulder, but nothing since.

So I take it your state doesn't do a Phase 0? If they don't you should be fine, but I would get your knee thoroughly checked by your doctor. Phase 1, while not as hard as boot camp, is still somewhat physically demanding because you get 10 pounds of crap stuffed in a five pound bag. Phase 2, even though its at home state, has a few events that will tax your knee (road marches, field exercises and APFT). Better to play it safe than sorry later.

Sir, that is correct. I am training on my own at them moment in preparation for OCS. I do plan to have my knee checked out by my physician, all while trying to not get too far ahead of myself trying to train.

Cpl Joseph Fields Traditional OCS isnt quite as demanding as Federal OCS or an accelerated one conducted at Alabama, or South Dakota. It is a brain drain though.

I went thru traditional OCS as I had started a career with the Bureau of Prisons and wanted to establish that too.

I have the most current OCSOP and I have been reading it nightly to familiarize myself with all things associated with OCS. I haven't completed LANDNAV since 2009, but my degree is in Geography and maps appear to be one of my strong suits, but I still plan to brush up before attending. Sir as we have discussed, my main worry is injury, but I hope to remedy that soon. Thank you for your insight and response in regards to the program and what I can expect. I intend to prepare as much as I can prior.
