SSgt Alex Robinson - Why in the hell should a Nobel Peace Prize be given to someone who was instrumental in brokering a deal that guarantees Iran gets a nuclear weapon to destroy Israel and the Western world?

Of course, on the other hand, since Obama got one for nothing, it really means nothing anyway....

It's a private award. They can give it to whomever they want. It carries prestige because it has traditionally be very good in its selection process. As that process becomes more political, or is seen more as more political, it well lose its prestige, correcting the issue.

As we have now had VP Al Gore receive one, and President Obama receive one, and President Carter receive one, I tend to view it like many other participation awards.

It has lost much of the prestige it used to have, exactly for the reason you mentioned.

I guess I'll say it this way. He earned it MORE then Yomama. But that isn't an endorsement for a resume in my book...
