I've been looking at myself and things that have been surrounding me and trying to implement some change to make each day better than yesterday. While this takes considerable effort, the one thing I've noticed that has helped have been dogs. I remember even in therapy when the service dogs came in, I could be in the worst mood and the dog would melt it away. I also remember as a MP I could volunteer to "catch" the working dogs. Even then they were therapeutic although painful if they bit past the wrap or pro gear. If you have a dog post a pic here. Might brighten up someones day. If you've been impacted by a dog tell us how. I follow this dog on FB because he's just amazing to see.

Always love the pups. Never could part with any dog we've brought home. Dogs hold a special place in our hearts.

I have dogs since the day I was born! My dream came true while working for USMC at Camp LeJeune. I finally purchased the dog of my dreams; a Shar PEI’S! She was the smartest dog I have ever had. House-broken at 6 weeks old! She was amazing and had six puppies with another pedigreed Shar Pei. The stud took pick of the litter, I took the runt. That left the female twins and a male long hair. I couldn’t bear to ‘sell’ them, so I kept the other male and the twins were given to the stud’s grandparents. All the puppies stayed in the family! Mei lived for fifteen years before I had to ‘let her go’...would NEVER replace her! But Zeus is a whole different story!

My Chocolate Labrador Ben. I'm his whole world and I like him too. When I'm having a bad day or fighting with my wife, he leans his whole body weight against me and forces me to pet him.

You mentioned fighting with the wife...you haven't learned you've lost before you say your first word? Good looking blessed family bro. The dog's the icing on the cake. Glad he know you and when you need him.

I know bro, I know! :) But she makes it so hard to not respond in kind at times! LOL...

But like country music legend Garth Brooks said: "Sometimes we fight just so we can make up."

My dog talks to me! I understand what his howling means and he has different ‘barks’ for different things!

Every couple has disagreements. As long as you are not physical and ‘fight fair’; differences of opinion are okay! Besides, you know what they say about make-up ***!PO1 John Miller

I think it has been studied and found that children who had disabilities or other ailments, that when they pet a dog, their stress was reduced significantly. As for adults, I don't doubt at all that dogs have similar benefits.

There is research regarding the positive impact of dog ‘therapy’ and equine (horse$) therapy with children, autism, PTSD, anxiety, and a number of physical and psychological conditions.
