Sometimes you can use logic to determine the truth. Sometimes it requires empirical data to prove the truth. The administration states we have a good vetting process for Muslim Immigrants using two pivotal actions. 1. They will interview folks from the country of origin. 2. They will use biometrics.

It sounds like a beautiful plan but do we have INS in Syria interviewing anyone? Nope. Biometrics is only as good as the database. Do we have a database of these refugees? Nope. So what do we have then? Nothing.

Sir devils advocate on this...what if there was a database used to catch biometrics and it just isn't thrown out so the media cracks can ruin it? I know when I was in the Stan Biometrics was used and were regularly sent up to higher for them to look at the info and to store it. Does everything have to be broadcasted for it to be in effect? Before RP explodes into a beat the fatman down, I'm being the devils advocate on this. I know it's extremely hard to keep any kind of secret in DC. Personally paper documentation is EASY to forge. If you doubt it look at some of the good stolen valor "troops" who have all the paper documentation to justify their 12MOH's. Biometrics are damn near impossible to fool without some SERIOUS plastic surgery. I don't think I could sit through all the facial reconstruction it would take to change the distance between my eyes, nose, and cheeks. I also know that ISIS has money, but to complete a surgery on that level, I don't think the recipient would be anywhere near the bottom of the terrorist food chain.

Actually that is part of their plan that isn't being carried by the media. They want to use Biometrics in the Vetting process, thus creating a database that Trump suggested.

Let's assume they pass through the vetting process. There is still the off chance they convert to radicalism because of friends or a radical cleric they meet. To die for Islam is a big deal as it guarantees access to heaven which is not afforded to all Muslims.

SSG Todd Halverson - But using it in a manner that doesn't straight up in your face discriminate is ok. Use it as a means of recording physical characteristics/tracking individuals from ANY nation would stop the ACLU from taking it to court and having it stopped, and for Mr. I-Want-The-Government-To-Spy-On-Everyone-But-Me, gets his "wish". If it were me, I'd have them at EVERY entry point into America. This way no matter who you are, you are now in the system. Can't claim racism or discrimination at that point. It only leaves the issue of access to info. Using it the way Trump did wouldn't last 10 days before the ACLU has him explaining (rightfully so) WTF is he doing and why only to these folks. It would be a fight just like the full body scanners turned out to be. It's already used in many cities now worldwide. I know for a damn fact in central London, GOOD LUCK walking 10 feet without a HD camera staring you in the face. Stationed there for almost fours years....they have cameras EVERYWHERE!

SSG Warren Swan - I agree it has to be used in a way that it is nondiscriminatory. Putting that at all points of entry would be a good idea, plus have them randomly placed throughout the country to help catch those who come in illegally.
We need George Orwell's 1984 put into practice.....

Boom sauce Sir. We don't have a database for Syria. Considering how interviews are conducted here for security clearances I don't put any stock in interviewing a fellow Syrian to determine refugee status

What bothers me is the penchant of the government and military to lie for their ends.
