I was heading into Fort Belvoir today and saw a car with both an "IRAQ, I served" and a "KOREA, I served", sticker. I told my wife, damn, this guy has been around forever, and so I pulled up along side to see this impressive individual. He looked maybe 25. I realized after, that he probably served in Korea recently.

Your thoughts on having a "KOREA, I served" for serving in Korea now?

Personally, unless you fought in that war, that's a no go.

Be proud of your service...wherever it takes you.

Personally, I wouldn't put either sticker on my car, but if this is how the Soldier likes to express themselves, I'm fine with it.

Thanks SSG. This is my first duty station. I've been here a little over seven years now.

"Join the military" they said, "See the world" they said.

I had an uncle who joined the Navy to see the world. According to him all he ever saw was Teaneck New Jersey. This was also the same clown who when asked if he could swim by the recruiter answered with "what's the matter, ain't you got no boats. Could be why he never left New Jersey.

yes sir, HUGE difference. I got to spend time with a "Frozen Chosin" Marine and hear first hand (not history from a DI) what it was like. It was like nothing I have experienced. My hat goes off.

CMSgt James Nolan, Like my other relatives who served in WWII, he also would not talk much about it. All he would say is he got shot clean through his upper arm at PCH and that the Purple Heart should have been for the hospital care he endured because that hurt worse than actually getting shot.
