Hi, SPC Glines.

Mine? No.

I asked my dad when I was 11 if I could wear his. He made me promise not to lose them. Even at 11, I was pretty sure I couldn't do that. So I put them back where I found them. I picked up those tags the day he was killed by a drunk driver in 1992. I carry them every day. Haven't lost them yet.

When my daughter went off to college she took mine with her. I have the memories, and she feels closer to home.

I am a company officer with a large city fire Department and I wear them on my fire gear,if I go down I know they will still do what they were meant to do. My men see them and know how proud I was to be a Marine, I like to think that it carries over to them the way I try to install the the bond forged in fire. ( yes pun intended )

No, but I still own my original set issued in January 1972, in clear vinyl silencers, with an East German pfenning taped to them You'll have to ask a real artilleryman what that means.

I stopped wearing my ID Tags when I left the Army after 34 years SPC David Glines. I still keep a pair of ID tags on my key chain with a p-38 can opener.

Yep, just moved cross country and had to wait 2 weeks for our HHG. Got canned goods for dinner and pulled the p-38 off my keys, cause there was no way I was buying a can opener when I knew one was enroute. Thirty years on that keychain and it was still nice and sharp. Was making me crave some C rats or maybe just a John Wayne bar.

SGT Michelle Franc - I loved my P-38, but do not miss the C-rations.

My favorite C-rats, tuna mixed in with the peaches, especially in the summertime; I imagined I was having a nice chilled summer salad. I just spent two weeks wrestling with an 11mm kidneystone and three general anesthesias. When I finally got my appetite back, I was craving tuna with canned peaches.

SGT Michelle Franc - We would take our C rats and combine them to make a stew. A good treat would be taking the Pecan Cake Roll, cut slits with our P-38, add water through the slits, and then heat the can over a heat tab.

No BUT I'm thinking about buying a replacement set. I still have my enlisted dog tags in a shadow box with my brag rags and assorted insignia (enlisted and officer), but my officer's dog tags went missing with my ex. (I suspect they may now be hanging on a voodoo doll)

I'm sorry. I laughed. I love a person with a sense of humor. Get the replacement tags. You'll be happy you did.

Well medals of America has anything you could need to include replacement tags, but I don't think they can help with any voodoo or hoodoo that might be getting used one you...
