10,000 Army officers on chopping block, Army official says. Will the Army reach its drawdown goal by 2018?

on some level, I get some of this....the days of unlimited funding and everyone gets promoted are over...I get that...
but I would think, from a personnel or talent management perspective...we would question what we are doing with some of our non-selects and OSB victims - not just sending them into the guard/reserve, but also putting them into GS positions (as opposed to those GS employees that have never served).
I find it hard that these people who are being separated...we have no work for them, whatsoever??

It's the old cycle of life. This draw down has been done before and before the Military has been bitten in the ass trying to recover. I just wonder with all the saber rattling, when we'll get bit again?
