I was an MA1 in the Navy, serving in DC, and we were credentialed as military, and deputized civilian, police officers. We did mostly law enforcement tasks including specialties like SWAT/SRT, VIP Protection, etc. I'm trying to find the same as an Officer as the Navy doesn't have an MOS (NOC) for such a position.

USAF Security Forces. Most states are letting civilian applicants forego academy if you've been through military police academy. MO allows you to simply take the P.O.S.T. exam. However, the state does not currently reciprocate the license from federal to statutory.
Security Forces frequently go out on patrol with Army squads at foreign bases.

PO1 Christopher Gómez - not automatically, no. I suspect it is like MO - you still have to take the State's particular P.O.S.T. exam and pass, but they can waive attendance of an academy because it is the same as the respective military police academy. The State would just want to make sure tog know the State Statutes before licensing you.
I'm pretty sure the situation you had was unique in that your military/federal license was reciprocated by the State.

SSgt (Join to see) - if he was serving in Washington DC, it isn't a state, but a Federal District where Congress can override the laws passed by the local government. I'm not sure that applies most places.

Why the fascination with a tin star? All E-4 and above in the USCG are federal law enforcement officers. We need no stinkin' badges. I helped put a lot of people behind bars without a shield or any bling. I wore dirty coveralls with no sign of my rank during boardings.

Even though the legal authority exists, not all are actively involved in LE. There are steps one must take to become a boarding officer or carry out other LE duties. USCG petty officers and commissioned officers can also work Shore Patrol assignments.

I did VBSS and MIO in the Navy prior to switching to MA. I want to be credentialed for continuity of sworn LE service for future employment. Thank you Sir.

I'd recommend checking with the 200th MP Command. Prior to retirement they were working a lot of civilian job contact opportunities throughout the US. Believe HQ is still based outta FT. Meade, MD.
Hope that might help!
