Military chaplains
I and many of my friends are not religious people. I for one am not christian. I do not pray nor bow my head during prayer, it is not my thing. However, if this chaplain wants to talk abut God in an effort to save soldiers then more power to him. The powers that have punished this person are sending a message, the message reads; we do not care as much about our soldiers lives as we do about being politically correct.

If we treated Guantanamo prisoners this way what would happen?

We are very cognizant of treating Muslims with kid gloves, but we make Nuns pay for abortions, and tie the hands of our Chaplains.

We really need to find our bearing...

Capt Jeff S. thanks for the mention. To be honest, I haven't been following this thread for a bit... It kind of blew up.

I've been wondering if the contest is for distance or accuracy?

Yep, SSG (Join to see), we have gone 'round the bend when it comes to "punishing" anyone (even a chaplain) who dares to say they are a Christian in front of a group of service members. We've gone too far when the chaplain is trying to comfort hurting Soldiers, to stop suicides, and he can't quote from the Bible. Once "they" eliminate all possible use of and reference to the Bible, "we" (Christians) should go after any book that anyone else quotes from - ANY book. But, of course, that won't happen, because Christians are taught to turn the other cheek. (Sorry, that's from the Bible.)

A Chaplain mentioning God getting punished is like a service member being sent to anger management for drawing a weapon from the arms room. I don't think I could make it in the service now. I was a big meanie I guess, just like the veterans who came before me.

SGT Glenn, I had a very good friend go through a similar situation. Basically, he demanded an investigation and proved his son was lying. Then he contacted one of those "lock-down" type of tean centers and made arrangements to have him interned there for a year. At the 6-month point the kid had straigntened out, apologized and was a totally different person. I know it sounds harsh; however, my friend and his son now have an excellent relationship. I shudder to think of where the kid would be had my friend not taken the steps he did. It wasn't easy but most things worth fighting for are. Good luck to you and your family.

SFC Mark Merino outstanding. I'm curious to hear a Chaplain's point of view on this. Like whether it's really happening, if we've got the real story, and what the possible heck could be going on.

The kid has been against me since I moved in because I enforce moms rules and he was so long with out a father figure and was able to play mom and do what he wanted that he didnt want me around. As said he has admitted to using this and other tactics to get rid of me to no avail. We have looked into "boot camps" but I am not willing to pay 6,000 a month to straighten him out.If anyone knows of places that do not want my 1st and 2nd born then by all means let me know. The other 4 kids have all warmed up to me and I have no issues with them or them me... this one is just stubborn.
