Humvee
Knowing the capabilities and history of this vehicle, I would definitely want to buy a HUMVEE. Did you know you now can? If your answer is NO, post why.

An online auction is selling 25 HUMVEEs for starters. Get yours today.

I would love to get my hands on one. If for nothing else to store it away for 30 years. Think of how sot after the old jeeps are. These will be the jeep of our generation. Not that it is so amazing more to the fact it is a piece of our history in the making.

SSG (Join to see) I came in the service in 1990. Not sure when they decommissioned the old Jeeps, but they have a good long run 40-50 years. What a great escape vehicle if TSHTF. Go off road for sure. These are the Jeeps of our generation. I have spent many hours PMCS and driving these. One of my most prized deployments was delivering a bunch of equipment to Somalia. Myself and one other Marine had a full C130 full of vehicles, that we escorted and hand delivered to troops on the ground. One of our HUMMERs hit an anti-personnel mine in Desert Storm, thank God it was anti-personnel and not anti-tank. Also thank God for Sand bags.

don't get me wrong i would rather have an old jeep. But i think in time you will see these in parades with OIF/OEF vets riding in them. And kids standing on sidewalks going "WOW billy look at that! Im going to be like that when I grow up." Im just glad I did not have to grow up just grow older.

Well, there's a CSM and a SFC saying that they're too expensive for them, do you have a Jeep Willys for the private?

That would be a keychain...if money were as object, this vehicle is definitely not for you. I can only imagine the cost to maintain these.

I heard a rumor about a bunch of Jeep Willeys that were all crated up and greased to preserve them. Just a rumor, though. ;-)

I don't have the time or money to keep one running so I personally wouldn't LOL, besides I will save my money until I can buy something I really like, like a M88!!

1SG (Join to see) Our Sergeant would take us out on HUMVEE Appreciation training...he would give us the most impossible terrain and tell us to negotiate it...I almost died a few times. When we could not negotiate the terrain, he would say, now you know the capabilities of this vehicle. Don't *UCK it up!
