CCC Question: I'm currently Armor but will be attending the Finance Captains Career course in Fort Jackson next year. I'm currently stationed in Germany and when it's time for us to leave, after three years, my daughter will be half way through her junior year of high school. As a parent pulling your kids out half way through the school year sucks. Especially so close to finishing high school. We would like for her to finish high school here but not sure if that's realistic with the timeline.

Could I extend here in Germany (high school stabilization) until she finishes? I was told as long as I go to CCC within 24 months of pinning CPT I'm good. Is that true?

Or, could I go TDY to Fort Jackson, come back, pick them up, then PCS?

Or, is be possible to PCS them right before CCC to my gaining unit?

Thanks in advance.

CPT (Join to see) they are ultimately the arbitrator on this. You don’t want to get behind on KD, some of which is predicated in CCC, especially as a branch transfer

LTC Jason Mackay Roger Sir, I know it could be a negative on your career if you gets backed up on CCC and KD, I just want to do my kids right while they're in high school. They've switched schools so much already.

CPT (Join to see) I know. Been there too. You are in a pinch point as a detail officer. They used to do a TDY transition course at 1LT. Now they don’t. Some units won’t put you in KD without being PME complete. I’d figure out an exit plan and sell it to branch. Occasionally the answer to Stabilization is you go and they stay. Overseas throws a wrinkle in.

LTC Jason Mackay you're right Sir. I'll be brainstorming a plan to present to branch in the mean time. I believe it will all work out in the end. As they say, the whole family is in the Army with you.

I feel you but.....

You could defer your CCC (if Branch allows it) but it will be detrimental to your career progression. You’ll be behind your year group!
