My kid's school was celebrating Veteran's Day this year and all the veteran family members were invited. Front row seat, in the middle! I was there and it truly was an honor. Well as each branch song played the veterans of that branch would stand and be recognised! Pretty cool. But when it's the Army's turn, the "Caisson Song" was played! If you're Army you know it's about the same as the Army Song, It originated from it though. So, should I be mad? I told them last year it was the wrong song and they didn't change it this year! What do you all think?

Then again the Marine Corps Hymn was written as is as opposed to the Army Song which was adapted from another army song and the lyrics changed. So "Army" of us.

Was having some beers with my brother-in-law, who was an Army Medic. Out of ignorance, I asked him about the Army's Hymn. He proudly stood up and sang:
"Be... all that you can be... Get an 'edge on life'... in the Army!"
Still face-palming on that one.

I don't think I would be upset. Their intentions were good and they were attempting to do the right thing. I may say something in passing but I probably would not because I would not want to detract from the experience for the students.
