Doesn't matter if you agree with this move or not - it's been directed and it's happening. What are your suggestions for renaming the following bases?

- Fort Bragg
- Fort Rucker
- Fort Benning
- Fort Gordon
- Fort Hood
- Fort Polk
- Fort A.P. Hill
- Fort Belvoir
- Fort Lee
- Fort Pickett

I have a suggestion, leave well enough alone! You can't erase history no matter how hard you try.

COL (Join to see) - Its repairing NOTHING!

It cannot be repaired, and we cannot judge warriors of yesteryear on some new criteria made more than a hundred years after their time.

I think Slavery was heinous- My family wasn't even here when it went on.

When I was birthed in 1960- My Grandma was STILL indentured and worked for Dem elites in Massachusetts.

We've known forever that we need to learn from the past---- why one would want to hide such a graphic proof of the past is beyond me.

When the morons decided to do this- it was my belief that things should stay right where they were... BUT the other side of the story should have been put in BOLD RED TYPE on a large sign beside it- preferrable with pictures, names etc to make it personal.

Let's teach the positives and negatives about these people- because there are positives though the negatives outweigh it by today's standards.

Unfortunately, the language that it is "changing history" is really a false narrative. Those posts were primarily named well after the Civil War. The statues of some of these Confederate generals are there because of the Daughters of the Confederacy, who pushed the Lost Cause narrative. Their naming was mostly based on political considerations. The men for whom these posts were named were traitors to the US. They led battles that killed US soldiers. I'm not suggesting that they be erased--we should always understand traitors and insurrectionists--but naming a military installation after them seems like it's pandering to a political group for political expediency. There's a difference between venerating and remembering. I would be for renaming all of the posts after Medal of Honor recipients.

It's humorous to me about how the big Army (and the left side) always tries to change the names of something we've always had & used....
Like the now politically correct term of "DFAC or dining facility".
And yet - we still, and probably will always call it the "Chow Hall"!!!
To me, Ft Bragg has a special place in my heart, soul & memory - and it will always be Bragg, no matter how many different politically-correct left side terms they decide to rename it!

That's why I didn't trust our previous President. He had a 50-year career of lies.

Perhaps Biden DID Lie, I've Never know A Politician Whom Didn't,
But Trump Was Habitual At It, I Have My Doubts If He Was Even Capable
Of Being Truthful; It's Just The Way He Was, As Though It Was In His DNA.

However, did you know it was named after a Confederate? Were you aware of Bragg's earned a reputation for incompetence, for wantonly shooting his own soldiers, and for losing battles? Why should this nation honor a losing side in a Civil War? We are ONE NATION. We have coddled the Confederates long enough. They lost. They should not be honored any longer.

SPC Randy Torgerson - Fascism is a disease that infects the soul of a nation. Christian nationalist run around claiming they are being "discriminated against" because people tell them to stop forcing their beliefs down the throats of everyone else. White supremacists run wild, claiming "Jews will not replace us," because they realize they are a dying breed filled with hate and fear. Why does the United States get to decide who has nuclear weapons? Why should we protect the genocidal regime of Israel (the UN has even declared Netanyahu a war criminal). Why did the Trump regime cozy up to the likes of fascist regimes such as El Salvador, Russian, and North Korea? Because Trump and the GOP are fascists. Project 2025 is a fascist playbook unfolding in front our eyes on a daily basis. Did Biden make mistakes and lie? Sure. All presidents do. Was he worse than Trump? Hell no. Not by a long shot.
Fear keeps people from action. Fear also allows those who believe they are right to attempt to control those who don't agree with them. We did not have "open borders" no matter how many times it is said on Fox News or by this regime. Biden deported more people that Trump did his entire first term. Obama deported more than both of them combined still. Now, this regime wants to take citizenship away from naturalized Americans. Who's next? You? Me? Not on my watch.
We can agree to disagree, but the fact of the matter is unless people begin to realize and wake up to the fact that this regime is fascism running amok without the oversight and checks & balances we're supposed to have, we won't have a country we can call the United States any longer. They are dismantling it one step at a time. One amendment at a time. As a veteran, I swore an Oath to the Constitution, not a man or a president. I'll defend it by any means necessary.

While I dont agree with trying to change history by changing the name of long standing bases, changing them to MOH names would be an acceptable change.
