A customer's grandson asked me if they're honoring religious exemptions for the covid vaccine because he wants to join the army I told him I don't know but I would ask anyone know anything about it?

The Army does grant them but there are other challenges you may face. You may be non-deployable. To me this is a readiness issue. I have deployed 3 times and have been vaccinated for viruses that I have never seen in real life. The choice is up to the person. I can respect their choice but then the Army can decide to deny it.

SFC (Join to see) my chaplain submitted the memo but I don't know if I kept a copy now that I'm retired. My retirement kicked it on the 1st of January 2022. At that time, when I was speaking to them on my final 15 days the command chaplain had already spoken to me over the phone. At that time, looks like the Catholic Archbishop of the US Army was kind of neutral about it so they were able to go ahead but I'm sure that political pressure from the by the Biden Administration has changed since then.
I'm not sure of your religious denomination but that was what was told to me last fall. The email from my chaplain pad forms to fill out. I think I threw away the memorandum from him. His email have three different documents to fill out. It may have changed since I retired.

LTC Stephen Conway - worth a shot. Yes I read the Archbishop of the US said none of the shots except the J&J were problematic to Catholic preference. SMH

SFC (Join to see) not sure if I saved the actual Memo from the chaplain on my laptop period I will check and see. I had the confirmed case of the coronavirus a month ago and it was not any worse than a bad cold. I'm 59 and I have no cold morbidity issues. I now feel fine that I'm now out of the military, receiving my pension and that my natural immunity is better than any of these vaccines that don't last very long and sometimes have side effects.

Update, I just got off the phone with my chief of staff of my Army command. I have to sign a counselling form saying I don't want to get the coronavirus vaccination due to religious reasons. I have to vent talk to the chaplain and then I have to get a signed letter from my local Parish priest. It will then go through many layers of command and it will have to be decided at the highest level but I am going to be out by the end of the year so staff of my command said don't worry about it just fill out the paperwork. In your case, they will probably not let you in under any circumstances with this Administration. Just like when you go through the military entrance processing oh, if you have plates and screws from a broken ankle like I have now suffered from an accident in the military, they won't kick me out I just had to leave a unit that was going to be airborne. They were transitioning from being a non Airborne to airborne. Military regulations are pretty strict. There is a chance in the future. Time will tell but even the US military is teaching critical race Theory and that goes against the military and its lessons on equal opportunity. We had a leftist president that is doing things contrary to American norms. So the answer is no.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff for those getting deployed and who are on active duty, then there is a big problem. But if you just came off the deployment and you're not getting called up, this is a long process to get through. Look how long it takes and how many levels it has to go through and it has to go through your chain of command, Staff Judge Advocate, the assistant Secretary of the army and then it goes all the way back down and if you still refuse then you get a general officer letter of reprimand which is the kiss of death. In my case, 10 weeks to go. I fill out some paperwork for the chaplain. I have to call him tomorrow but I've already emailed him my description of the religious exemption and he has to write a memorandum. There are so many hoops and it's going to take a long time for someone to get busted. In my case, I'm near-term out of here 31 December. The chief of staff in the G3 of my one Star Command are not concerned about me because they know the time like it will take to go through all these different levels and the point is moot because I will be done so soon.

Many here tend to excoriate anyone who doesn't see things throught the sama prism as they do. They are the woke within our military who, if you don't believe as they do, resort to name calling an other inane attempts at insulting people.
You're correct, sir. The current administration has been doing more harm to the country than one could ever imagine. Police, fire fighters, nurses and other professionals are leaving jurisdictions that impose mandates. One of my sons won't have his (federal) job after the end of November; but no matter, a civilian sector business is picking him up at TWICE his current pay and they are not, and will not enforce any mandates whehter or not Biden issues an Executive Order.
For the record, I got the jabs ... but that was my INDIVIDUAL choice. My son has the same RIGHT to decline it as does anyone else.

SSG Bill McCoy I'm glad that states like Indiana and Florida are offering police and other First Responders a job so they can say foxtrot uniform for those woke Governors and mayors.

If the main general of the army talks about white rage and doesn't want to admit his failure in Afghanistan, I would say wait this one out until we have a new president. Even though they say they do give exemptions, when you are a recruit, they can be picky and not let you in. I would say wait three and a half more years.

I didn't get a choice when it was anthrax, small pox, yellow fever, etc. It was known that I wouldn't be able to support my team if I wasn't medically cleared for deployment. I took an oath to follow orders so why is this COVID discussion still drawing breath? COVID in the ranks isn't the issue. The issue is that we are diminishing our readiness with all the woke nonesense.

PO1 Mark Koenig yes, the woke nonsense. I would be more worried about Anthrax, smallpox, Japanese Encephalitis which wasn't considered racist but that's what they call it but I have that shot as well. I have Hepatitis A and B shots, the DTaP shot. I have all five shots of the anthrax shots. USA is turning into Australia. The leftist radicals of antifa and black lives matter Marxist couldn't do oh, this coronavirus shot will. Pilots quitting, police quitting, firefighters quitting, Medical Personnel of all kinds and expertise quitting... I hope they all go to Florida because of Governor Ron DeSantis will not fire them. President Biden again lying saying he would not push a vaccine mandate. His lies will pile up and pretty soon he will lie more than President Trump ever did.

Did you belong to the same religious faith in boot camp? What did you object to then?
