Are you focusing on the short-term perceived stability of a job offer rather than finding the right long-term career fit? The time spent finding the right job should be treated the same way as someone taking time to find the right life partner.
Impatience in the job hunt to maintain a certain lifestyle or immediately reach a new one is a critical mistake in the pursuit of professional happiness. It's vital to take more time finding the right job fit and take a lifestyle hit than to find yourself in the wrong job and regretting your choice only a few months into a new position.

Always. My wife is going through now what I went through a year ago and it's horrible. You apply to jobs that meet your skillset and interest and you hear nothing for weeks and months. You call and all they do is confirm they received your application and resume. You apply for more jobs and wait more time. Companies apparently feel that potential employees are all working and can wait until they are ready for you, Not so. I searched for 6 months while employed and 2 months while unemployed and took a job being underemployed just to get off unemployment. Many jobs I thought were the right job I never landed an interview for and you can only wait/hold out for so long. I landed the right job twice, then was laid off twice when the companies lost too much revenue or merged - what can you do?

ALL. THE. TIME.

There were times when I had a few periods of extended unemployment and I pretty much had to take the first viable job that came my way, mainly so that I had some extra income coming in while I looked for a better job/career.

On my two job searches I was unemployed for 3 months and 5 months respectively. Darned right I got impatient.
