Hero of the Day: Kentucky police officer John Nissen!
He went above and beyond for a grief stricken driver named Barbie Henderson.
While driving, Barbie got word of her sister's death and pulled over to the side of the road. She was too distraught to drive and didn't know what to do so she called 911.
That's when officer Nissen came on the scene and asked if he could sit and talk with her.
Nissen says: "I turned the air vents towards her – it was over 90 degrees that day – held her hand, and she cried on my shoulder. I had her take sips of water."
He stayed with her for an hour until another family member could come and get her home safely.
When Barbie's other sister, Shonda, arrived, she was so amazed by the officer's kindness that she took a photo of the two and sent it to the Hillview Kentucky Police Facebook Page.
She wrote:
"Officer Nissen was more than an officer yesterday. He was a person with a heart to understand this was a lady who just lost her sister. From there on he took care of my sister … What an awesome guy!!!!"
IT is a great story. Why can't we see more like this. We have rotten apples everywhere... But this was awesome. Why can't we hear more stuff about what inspires people? Get a uplift today. Go give him a thumbs up!

SGT (Join to see) This is great post and story. There are good people in this world (hundreds of them), but the news can't report all the good news stories because that doesn't sell news! Its a shame, because this kind of stuff goes on all the time, but we only read and hear about the bad. What is wrong with good news stories! Maybe we should have a new cable channel that plays nothing but the good stuff! "The Good News Channel!"

SGT (Join to see) I think there would be an audience. I personally quite watching the evening news and the other news channels just because of all the negative reporting. I would love to hear good news stories about people (no matter what race) really helping others. The problem is it happens all the time, but no we have to listen to the stuff that keeps this nation divided. Let's get it fixed. Let's show the good as well. We are not a totally lost nation, we are subjected to junk on TV and that fuels anger and crap. Just my opinion. Sorry for getting on my "soap box" there.

I believe there are more of the compassionate people out there, PO1 Shahida Marmol. The only problem is compassion doesn't follow the media's biased agenda. They won't show it, because they need to keep the hate going for ratings.
