Addictions or habits! We all have them, which did you acquire from the military?

You have to be brave to answer this one. I will present a few options: Work, PT, eating, Surfing the internet, dipping, smoking, extreme sports, drinking, cards or gambling, drinking coffee, running, and of course messing with the LT.
I came in right when the internet was taking off...1990, so I blame the military....and RP. I did a stint with dipping, but only leaf, couldn't do the worm dirt. You can be infantry and not dip, right? And of course, coffee. I do like a fine beer, I prefer German beers, but who gets picky when it is free?
Add your addictions as you see fit...carry on, the LT has left the building, not lets rat**ck his gear...

Being early to events, and getting ticked off in my mind at people who consistently show up late. No excuse for that stuff.

My rule is, and always has been since I switched to the "dark" side (aka: SOF): "TOT +/- 30 seconds..." Of course, it should be noted that I'm never late, unless I have to be late, this meaning: I'm probably fighting a fire (no, literally, I'm actually probably fighting a fire as I'm a volunteer Firefighter).

"What is wrong with us? LOL"- where to begin?? If I had it all recorded on a scroll it would look like a mutant roll of Bounty!! :-)

My closet is set up by pants, dresses, blouses, T shirts, then sweat shirts. Every thing facing the same way and matched by color. Dresser is neatly folded and stacked. My husband and kids make fun of me for it.

Addicted to the "rush" of jumping out of planes, blowing *stuff* up, and shooting. Also gotta have my cuppa joe in the morning, and while I'm not addicted to cigars, I do LOVE a good Cuban Cohiba once in a while. As for beer, I ONLY drink the good stuff - as in, can't be Bush, Bud, Corona, Coors, Miller, or any other crappy watered down, Americanized crap. If it's American, it has to come from a "micro" as much as possible, and NEVER EVER EVER in a can or in a bottle that isn't at least brown.

PO2 John W. I have had Dog Fish Head and it is very good. I live in Mobile, AL and for some reason this keys in on the company I work for. I however cannot drink beer from a can. I prefer the dark brown glass. Beer and soda always taste best from a bottle to me. I used to be one who loved Heineken ha not since I have had microbrews. I but a mixed 6 pack every off week I have.

For lack of a better term, I've always had a food addiction. "The Battle of the Bulge" has been a lifetime struggle. With all the healthy eating choices out there, you would think it would be easier for some of us to do better, but its a struggle mentally.

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca it take some cohonos to admit that. I'm Italian/Irish, we love good food. I'm an excellent cook, give me a pantry and I'll make a 3 course meal....if you know what I mean. I blame my fascination with food on Ranger School...first time I starved.

It can be done. I'm proof. You've seen it. You are friends with me on FB MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca. When I was in the Army my diet consisted of s snickers bar and Dr. Pepper. I love good old Southern food too. Bacon and Bourbon. I just work hard to keep it in check nowadays.

PV2 (Join to see): If you drink enough bourbon, you won't put on any weight... The rest of it however, you'll have to watch...

Coffee, or liquid courage. I like to think that no matter what experience that life is able to throw my direction, several cups of coffee can conquer such chaos. And, a warning to my enemies; you do not want to see me with caffeine withdraw.

Those coffee withdrawal headaches can be a doozy. I think I was having one the other day...

TSgt J.D. Hall I just had a heart attack reading that. So glad you quit. OMG, you were on a short trip to the grave with that dosage. Probably aged you at least 15 mins...

Sounds like an adventurer at heart and a heart filled with compassion. A pilot or a Nurse...sounds like both.

LTC Stephen C.. Perhaps addiction is too strong a term . . . it might have been better to say fond of under the right circumstances surrounded by the right people . . . and never when on call to perform.
Adrenaline........

My Dad always said "It is better to be an hour early than a minute late". I think the military re-emphasized this for me.
