Gun control groups accused of "swatting" open-carry permit holders, putting lives at risk.

Should "swatting" legal owners who carry be illegal?

Cpl (Join to see) - If individuals call 911 when they know there is no real threat, they should be arrested and charged, just like anybody else who makes a false report. Just "seeing a gun and feeling scared", without anything else that would cause a normal person to feel threatened, should not be a viable defense.

I agree, COL Jean (John) F. B.! I would also think that those advocating for the illegal activity be charged with something akin to "public endangerment," much like yelling fire in a crowded theater.

As someone who pays taxes, I have a problem with people squandering the public resources that tax money helps to provide. There should absolutely be repercussions. You're not supposed to pull fire alarms as a hobby for similar reasons. Then there's the whole encroachment upon constitutionally guaranteed rights thing...

Cpl (Join to see) Unless someone is known danger let's quit wasting our public servants times on nothing. Our peacekeepers need to be out there solving real crime. Stiff penalty!

Continue down this "Chicken Little" road may cause LEO to become complacent when the caller really needs the help. In some communities, like Fayetteville, LEO likes to use a charge of "Terror to the public" or something like that when someone complains about carrying a weapon. In many cases, a CCW permittee won't get charged.

Richards. (get it?) Here in cowboy land (Arizona) people don't look twice for people open carrying. I have a neighbor who is 70 and she has a .357 cowboy setup complete with 20+ extra rounds. No one is snatching her purse.
