Has anyone looking to start a business ever thought about starting an online date site for military or veterans? Many of us single veterans have troubles finding partners that understand the military life. Do you think this would be a good business for someone to start?

It'd be a niche business but it might work, it wouldn't take a million to make happen, but it'd take more money then I have, that's for sure.

i would think one would also have to make sure that if you had non military people that people are there who just want a military spouse for the benefits.

WE are getting more and more military people alone these days from all the suicide rates. Of course it would mean some long distance with a few people but any date site is like that. I have tried but most men have found me in the past to be to rough and tough on myself. I almost used to think I needed a drill Sargent or higher to come relieve me from duty. lol....Cuts oh well bandage them and back to work in the old days. Now as I get older looking to find someone before it is to late.

It's actually an outstanding idea.

If I had a cool Million, I'd start it up tonight.

what if you could do it with less? There has to be a way to get one going for less then that. I have a website that only cost me $13.95 a month on yahoo. But it is far from being the same things. I could never do it from the stress it may bring on but someone with the higher leadership skills probably could.

Getting it up and running isn't the issue. Making it through year 1, and being sustainable to year 5, and making a profit (and paying yourself) is.

The domain name & hosting is cheap. Staff, marketing, server leasing, and everything else ... that's what would cost you.
