Are anonymous ex military intelligence folks learning their skills in the Military?

After reading the Introduction on the Hoods Off Document. It reminded me of the Advancement Courses for my own Cryptologic Community. What are the Odds that Anonymous learned their skills in the Military?

Pretty much 100% odds. Remember who developed computers, inter-net and encryption. Many of our current electronic COMMs and tools are directly from Military research.

PO1 we are in agreement. You are probably more knowledgeable than many. History of NASA and many other high ranking projects down to the "field comm" used has been the Genesis of our electronic equipment available to the public today.

I would not be surprised to find out that Anonymous has members from the military. Anonymous and Military Intelligence do have a lot in common. Anonymous my have better security than our government. I'm not reading in the news that Anonymous is leaving sensitive information on unprotected computers.

They may have learned some skills, but I'm sure it pointed them in the direction they took!!!

I don't necessarily think they "learned" their skills in the military, but odds are some Anonymous members have a military background. I wouldn't be surprised if those members have an IT or cryptological background.

What they are doing is pretty much straight up out of the "Traffic Analysis" Courses and Inserting themselves in others networks which was part of another Cryptologic Course I took. Between that and the Mysterious Invites I get to "Goating Parties". Where they flip a page. I'm sure some of them are my Fellow CTs and want to keep me in the loop. I say Bravo to them.

People think anonymous is much more sophisticated than it really is. They're largely primitive script kiddies running botnets to ddos websites they disagree with. Not hacking at all imo.

Its possible that some served a 4 year term and decided to get out after being disillusioned with military service. And maybe they feel like they are doing some good being part of Anonymous. I disagree with the masks though as it makes them appear more criminal like.

I am not sure they learned them while in the military. If they did, it would be on their own time. The Cyber MOS's are fairly new and some of the more advanced stuff they would have learned would have only be used by a small group of people. That combined with the assessment and selection process used to hire people that will use these skills, I feel they may not be the same type of person that joins anonymous.
