I’m brand new to the army. I’m a MP in the army reserves. My unit doesn’t have AGSU patches or DUI’s available. I have a military funeral to attend. I ordered my DUI’s and paid the extra for overnight shipping. A week ago. Do I absolutely need my DUI’s or is it optional. I was able to get everything else squared away. Should I not go, go in civilians, or can I still wear my agsu’s?

Army Regulation (AR) 670-1 and Department of the Army (DA) Pamphlet 670-1 will be your Go To for the wear and appearance of the Army uniform. DUI's are an odd kind of uniform adornment. For regular events, you would wear them; during formal events (such as Dining In or Dining Out) you would not wear them. The question I have for you:

Are you participating IN the Funeral? As in, are you a member of the Funeral Detail?

Yes, you have to wear them. They are a part of your uniform. I would ask a friend in the unit if they have them.

Your unit doesn't have its own unit crests available?

A lot of Reserve units will say they are short on funds to get those item. Most times it's true. Other times, it's a BS answer.

MSG (Join to see) - It's always BS. It comes down to a unit having administrative access to a Gov Purchase Card. Ergo no funds, or more to the point an inability to send funds. Someone will eventually get the permission then S4 will buy a 100 year supply. Money is there, it just needs to trickle down the approval chain to the level that is asking for it.
