If you have ever watched any of these movies, you invariably find depiction of girls and women, usually 20ish with short shorts, tons of cleavage and when chased by a car, they run down the middle of the road, rather than doing the smart thing and go down an alley. Anywhere but where they get ran down.

Not being a woman, I wonder what women feel when they see this and probably why some women go to see half-naked men.

Rashida Jones complained about the hyper-sexualization of young girls/women in media. The younger girl on 'Parks and Recreation'
had some selfies of her doing something to herself and this was
leaked and both Jones and Amy Poehler are very protective of Aubrey
Plaza. (April Ludgate). Even the older daughter of President Obama
had selfies of her G-Rated, but still that would make me mad if that
were my daughter. My take is that this kind of objectification is really
soft-porn and we are worried about partial nudity but not young
women being hacked to death.

So what is your take and I would love to hear from ladies, considering
Tailhook, Basic Training Prostitution and sexual harassment? Or the
frat boys with demeaning signs to the freshmen girls?

Slasher movies are sick in many ways - the celebration of stupidity and gratuitous violence primarily.

Capt Seid Waddell Thank you! I have done blogs on the nature of abuse of women and setting the stage for date rapes. Porkys and most teen angst movies are replete with this kind of message.

SSgt (Join to see), they are simply harvesting cash from raging hormones of the youth, IMHO.

SSgt (Join to see), I can't and won't watch slasher movies, no matter who's getting chased! Even though I know that it's "Hollywood", and no one is really getting sliced, diced, maimed or tortured, my mind doesn't need those visuals. If there are women in them (virtually all of them, I'm sure), there's a sexist aspect to it.

LTC Stephen C. Oh I agree and largely these movies are directed at teens and this involves inculcating that kind of mindset. Guts spilling and body parts just seem so offensive. It is porn if you think about it.
