Are the Bible, the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution examples of Institutionalized Sexism?

According to a recent article in the Daily Caller, an online training course developed and approved for use by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) at Patrick AFB (weren't they JUST in the news for another EO flap?) includes material that cites the Holy Bible, the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Constitution as examples of institutionalized forms of sexism.
Whoa!
Say what? Has a line been crossed when the very documents our nation has been founded upon, including the very document we swear our oaths to support and defend become the examples of a flawed and failed system that one must logically conclude, somewhere on the horizon, a visionary will appear to sell us on a more perfect solution? Is this merely academic or is this inching perilously close to treasonous waters?
What do you think? As always, be courteous, be professional, have at 'er!

Sir, I proclaim without reservation that the Bible does discriminate based on gender, but it doesn't mean that we (females) are any less worthy than our male counterparts. On the contrary, although man is the head of the household, woman is the foundation of the family. We have separate roles, but we are equal.
"But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." - 1 Corinthians 11:3

Plead to divide the question. Bible is a book of history, philosophy, theology and faith. The Old Testament reflects the history of the times and region. Stories of women are included in the OT. Some were judges and matriarchs of the faith. The New Testament places exceptional value on women, especially for it's time in history. Many early leaders of the first century church were women. Paul boldly declared that grace was available to all regardless of sex. The first people to see Jesus was risen were women! And of course there's Mary selected to bare the Son of God and held in near-deity status by some.
The Declaration and Constitution are by and for humans--not divinely inspired. They reflect the society of the time. Both documents could be seen as sexist and racist. We have to allow for the good intent of the men who wrote them. The constitution was corrected over time to allow equal rights for women. The founders were smart enough to provide a means for amending the Constitution.
