Are there any WOs out there who regret taking that step? What are the ups and downs to becoming a WO?

I’m still debating going WO. Are there any WO out there who regret taking that step? What are the ups and downs to becoming a WO? I want to be a 140A, that’s what my AFSC translates to I hold qualifications specifically in data links will I be able to switch without any serious issues?

Coming from a Service without WO's this is a strange question. I have met officers who went back and became WO's. I can't recall meeting a WO who regretted doing it. You are in a very small circle, that makes you unique (not elite, there is a difference). The respect shown a WO, is different from that of a O-1 or O-2. You get to lead, be a technical expert, often times you may become a Platoon leader or Senior advisor in a given field. If you are expecting to just work as technician in a back closet somewhere, that is not the case.

Is this a trick question? Duffleblog? Quit dragging your feet and get after it, life is what you make it. This may be close to what the other WO's are thinking, they just didn't want to respond to such a question.

I was an Aviation Warrant Officer for nine years and it was a blast! I got to be the cool, professional aviator, and while I did miss my commissioned officer paycheck, I didn't miss the responsibilities and headaches of leadership positions. If you qualify, go for it!!
