Do any current 11B SFC's or MSG's here have experience as an ROTC Instructor? I'm starting to think about my next broadening assignment, and I've heard this is a very rewarding position, but I have my own doubts about it. I was a recruiter for three years, and while that was fun and all, it left me completely out of touch with my MOS for three solid years. The last thing I want to do is play the catchup game again. I feel like ROTC has the teaching aspect, there's still the opportunity to instruct (which is something I enjoy as a PSG), and it will give me an opportunity to finish my degree. However, I don't know how competitive it looks as an assignment compared to Drill or OC/T.

Any help from you guys, and shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I'd say go for ROTC. Opportunity to complete degree is an important post-retirement benefit. Also, experience in sales, a.k.a. recruiting, and teaching (ROTC) will serve you well in looking for employment after the Army.

My bad you mentioned 11B. How much PSG do you have under your belt?
