As prior enlisted Air Force, do I need to go to boot camp again before Army OCS, or just straight to OCS? I've heard two different things.

Yes you would need to go to basic. I had many former navy and air force candidates that went through OCS with me. All of them had to go through basic before OCS. The army let's marines go onto OCS without basic because they recognize their training as on par with the army.

Officer Candidate School and Army OCS Requirements
Army Officer Candidate School gives college graduates an opportunity to be leaders and officers for Active Duty or Army Reserve. Learn about Army OCS requirements.

If you are talking about Regular Army OCS I don't believe you should. The only factor that would make you go back to basic is if you had a long break in service. I don't recall the length but I believe 3 years makes you repeat basic again. Other than that you shouldn't have an issue.

I was told that's only for Army and Marine priors but that Navy and AF had to regardless. You think that's accurate?

CPT (Join to see) - Usually officer candidates don't go to basic. But I would call up a recruiter to be sure.

CPT (Join to see) - I did and they don't even know. One recruiter said yes and another said maybe lol... I guess I'll find out when I get my contract in a week or so at MEPS.

Make sure you read the contract. Look at the Blue to Green website. There it should tell you if that is guaranteed. I'm going to look at it now.

There is less information on the website than when I did things seven years ago. I know some people in recruiting I can ask. I work in ROTC right now so I know people with that information. I'll get back to you.

It looks like the rules have changed. It used to be guaranteed that one didn't have to go through BCT, but it looks like it is once again a requirement. I have one other person I can check with the make sure, but I may not hear back for a while. But I'll let you know.

Short answer is the link to OCS provided by Sgt Hallock is correct. Yes you have to attend Army Basic Training, USAF Basic Training does not count.

Yes. Air force boot camp is not like the army anymore. Volunteer to go. You may get a waiver
