Sunni groups supporting the Islamic State have training camps in Turkey. Why are the Turks & NATO allowing this to happen!?! Why isn't the Obama Administration leadership more aggressive against Islamist Extremist? What can we do to stop Sunni or Shiite (Iranian) Indoctrination?

As a pejorative term, indoctrination implies forcibly or coercively causing people to act and think on the basis of a certain ideology.

LTC John Shaw, that's been going on for years. Those kids are indoctrinated early in life. That's why they don't give a second thought in beheading or chopping up. Another human. But, I looked this up, and this is what our POTUS thinks.

LTC John Shaw, IMO, The only thing I can come up with, is to chop off the head of the snake(s) in charge of ISIS. Everyone knows that, except IMHO, our POTUS. There aren't many countries that are willing to take on ISIS without U.S. involvement. There is no way to stop ISIS from indoctrinating those boys, unless the U.S. gets serious about wiping out ISIS completely. I heard on the news, yes the news on TV, that ISIS is Ten Million strong now. That's like a country. Have we waited too long to do something? Those boys, that country, and others in that region, are in deep Doo Doo. I don't see anyway of stopping ISIS the way things are going now.

ISIS = Sunni Al Qaeda = Shi'ite The conflict between them doesn't have anything to do with religion or how it is interpreted. It has to do with a power struggle between the two groups over who should be the ruling authority. The descendants of the prophet Mohammed or the followers of Abu Bakr (trusted advisor to Mohammed). How can you end indoctrination? Difficult question to answer. Generations of indoctrination make it a part of their culture. My answer will not be popular but I think the only way to get this type of change is through total oppression for multiple generations. An oppression that would need to last until the currently indoctrinated generations are no more.

CPT (Join to see) I think you are correct. Perhaps we may have to stay engaged for multiple generations, like at Korea, Japan, Germany, etc. We still have forces on the ground and we forgot that we are still engaged, 70+ years. Help shape the education programs and policies.

With a full-on decimation of the training camps. Yes, I do understand that this means the death of children. Horrible that this scenario should even be a reality.

Not sure how we do anything about what happens on Turkish soil, but it's a fair question to ask if Turkey knows about this and if so, why aren't they doing anything about it?

What I really think and believe is that Obama does NOT want to start a war on his watch. He is not a leader, he is a follower. I still honestly believe that he is in fact Muslim and that he is practicing Taqiya which is "a form of religious lie, [1] or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts, especially while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution. [2] A similar concept in Sunni Islam is known as idtirar (إضطرار) "coercion". A related concept is known as kitman "concealment; dissimulation by omission". Also related is the concept of ḥiyal, legalistic deception practiced not necessarily in a religious context but to gain POLITICAL or legalistic advantage."
IF he were, doesn't it make sense??? I mean, it really does to me and is the only logical explanation as to why the leader of a "great power" would not do anything he possibly could to destroy these animals. Again, modern day Muslim's may not agree with the way that they are running their caliphate but they DO buy into their Bullshit lies about what America really is. I really do not think the President "likes" America. Y'all can hate me, cuss me, do whatever you want, but he has done more harm to us than good. LTC John Shaw

I mean, look at this LTC John Shaw
Can one honestly think that Obama loves his Country and what it stands for? This should've been done last week. Why it hadn't been done is just unconscionable. Everyone knows that "the President can issue an executive order for the flag of the United States to be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States government, and others (like these 6 military men) as a mark of RESPECT to their memory." He has NONE.

Qur’anic verse 3:28: “Let believers not take infidels for friends and allies instead of believers. Whoever does this shall have no relationship left with God—unless you but guard yourselves against them, taking precautions.” Hmmm...It could explain a lot of what the President has done and failed to do.

MSgt James Mullis I mean, he took on an Iranian of the year (Valery Jarrett) to be his advisor. If you looked at everyone that he has put into some position, they have had nothing bad things to say about Israel... and/or they were just a huge traitor to our Country. I am glad, hopeful, praise God that we are almost done with his final 4 years.

I've said this before about the radicalization of muslims and the conflicts we find ourselves in with them. This is multi-generational because you have to clean this up over generations. We have not even started that process nor do we have the will/stomach to do it. That would require us invading, occupying and addressing the radical imam's and others teaching the next generation the radical ideas we find so abhorrent.

We had to do something similar post world war II with both Nazi Germany and Japan as both cultures had been radicalized, just in different ways. We had the "de-nazification of Germany to contend with for many years. Japan we managed differently. We allowed them to keep their Emperor, their flag, many customs etc but dismantled their military, gave them a new government and helped rebuild (as we did in Germany).

The key to both of these was we defeated the enemy. The enemy was a nation state though, much different than some of what we face today although ISIS is trying to establish a nation state.

Indoctrination must be nipped where it begins, that, I am afraid, is at the level of the local mosque and the local imams. Without massive help from allies in the region (some of which are muslim nations) and their willingness to address radicalization in their own country (Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Jordan etc.) there will be little hope of changing it.

This is the Same NATO that left Ukraine to hang out to dry, same guys who did jack nothing after the plane was shot down, same people who could not do not do jack without the US leading them while the Serbian were having genocide parties. Do we really expect much out of NATO? For which is a member, btw is also led by a Muslim who is not that friendly to the West. Prime Minister Erdowan is not the greatest ally of our, or for that matter NATO, only when it suits his needs.

Yes I understand and that is one of my points. If we can't lead NATO to fight ISIL and treat this as a long-term problem, put pressure on Turkey then we have no leadership.

At first I expected this to a discussion in the Humor topic group LTC John Shaw :-)
I remember the Adams Family in the 1960's where the young daughter Wednesday beheaded dolls to the joy of her parents Gomez and Morticia :-)
That being said Radicalized Muslims have used children to behead captured soldiers in Syria. If the beheading of dolls is a first step in the indoctrination of children to move on to beheading of small and animals and eventually "captured" prisoners that is despicable.
Infinitely worse than the application in "Despicable Me" :-)
Brainwashing of children was perfected by the Nazi's and has been used by totalitarian governments and PLO, HAMAS, Al Shabab and non-state actors the Islamic State. It is difficult to reverse the brainwashing. I expect many of these "children" will die in suicide bombings while others will die in Syria or some other targeted nation. Hopefully many can be saved and be cleansed from the brainwashing.

These people are living through a Sunni "Grand Inquisition".
I am completely split between being outraged and feeling sorry for them.
I guess this is the inevitable outcome of having a state religion.

SPC Jan Allbright, M.Sc., R.S. I am not sure I agree with the outcome of a state religion. I think this is the outcome of having the Islamic State establishing their version/view of Islam.

What a horrific existence for these children. I have no words except to say that I think that we should bomb, drone and shoot every SOB that moves. There should never be an old former member of IS.

LTC John Shaw I wonder if we can change their thinking. I read yesterday that Jihadi John the Brit who was beheading for IS is running for his life, so who knows. They turn on themselves.
