Your remarks say far more about you than me. I won’t dignify them with further comment. Best of luck to you.

SSG Jeffrey Monk Not bitter at all. Truth be told, I made the initial remark sort of “tongue in cheek” over two years ago. In retrospect, I should have articulated my thoughts a little better. I was trying to convey that in the big scheme of things, this is really a minor issue that could be solved at the lowest level. Clearly an NCO matter.
In my latter comment, I was merely disengaging from an argument with the gentleman who took exception to my earlier remark.
I apologize for any confusion.
Time to move on. Thanks

LTC Mark Ensign - Well sir I thank you for the heads up. You are very correct that it can sometimes be hard to see the sarcasm or tongue in cheek comments. You are right in the situation should have been taken care of at the NCO level. Unfortunately not all NCO's are created equal nor every chain of command.

Barracks program switching rooms aren’t single soldiers allotted a certain amount of time to move. ? If so where I can I find this?

Sounds like you have slipped into the category of a soldier who seems to be on the wrong side of the chain of command. It may be time to change your thought pattern and instead of trying to go against the grain , strive to be a better soldier , many doors may just open for you. To answer your question... Your on duty 24/7 and should be able to have all your gear ready to go in a moment's notice. The personal belongings you may have are not the chains concern and are actually a privilege just like owning a vehicle and yes even getting married. The chain can tell you that your not worthy of such niceties and deny you those privileges .

Try bringing the issue up with your chain of command.
Did they give you prior notice, or did they just spring this on your today?

They had told the whole battalion that moving would happen but no one knew when. No type of notification

Hmmm, we had a locker in the platoon bay and a duffle bag that held everything in that locker (well, that was allowed to be in that locker). Moving was generally done in less than a hour. Idk how the military manages now with “rooms” and everything that is allowed to be in them.

How much time does it take for you and you buddies to pickup wall locker and move it to the new barracks? Bring back empty wall and foot locker back to old barracks. Strip your rack, grab foot locker and go to new barracks. Make new rack bounce a couple quarters off it and you are done! If you are deployed your house boys can probably handle the move. Been there and done that.

Just consider it practice for deployment. My company had to move FOBs multiple times during my deployments. Then there's the deployment and redeployment, essentially moving. You better hurry up though. Today is the 17th.
