My horse died. I needed an outlet for my pain and loss, so I wrote about his life and death. Then I kept on writing about other subjects. I've always had stories running through my head, but I'd never put them down on paper. Now I put them on paper.

I am encouraged by the experiences we all live and the stories we have to tell. I personally write poetry, I have written a memoir and a self-help book, but poetry is my forte. I also understand most of us who write are going to self-publish because it is near impossible to get accepted by a traditional house.

You can send your manuscripts to publisher after publisher and receive large numbers of rejection letters, a waste of time. Then there is your legacy...the real reason why you wrote. To leave your history, your stories for future generations so they may know you through your work.

If you want to publish, I can help you and I help you at no cost to you. I have helped over twenty writers become published authors. If interested, feel frre to contact me anytime.

I like using Lulu.com to publish, but it certainly is not the only one out there. I would like to have one professionally published, not a vanity published piece like some describe it, The real reason I write though is the legacy. I know little or nothing of my ancestors, what they were like, what they did for a living, how they spent their free time. I want to ensure that is not an issue for those that follow me. I'm working on a book now on motorcycling adventures, and I for one am curious how it will turn out as it is a non-fiction type book.

You get a better product from CreateSpace and pay nothing to publish. Books are less than $3.00 each.

I did a hard cover 11' X 8.5" book the first time. The book was a one off and only cost me $30. Not terrible for a custom piece. I'll take a look at the other site though as well. I'm still above ground and capable of learning.

Always admired people that could paint pictures with their words. When I retired, and had time to pursue it, thought I'd give it a try. First two books were about what I knew best.....then let my imagination run wild for the next four. I just love telling the story. The satisfaction you get by seeing your work in print is remarkable. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain by giving it a shot.

I learned that when you really want something......you can make it happen. You just have to get started.....and then push through to the end. I would write a few chapters and then let someone you trust look it over and give you honest feedback. Then edit if needed.....and press ahead. Pick a subject you know well to write about for your first effort.

Yes sir. You have to write about what you know about. A reader will know you as a fraud instantly if you are writing about something you don't know.
