A little back story on this. A soldier surprises his son at a school assembly after being gone for a year in Kuwait..not taking anything away from that however if your going to represent the military do it right.

So what, its a goof. I have corrected field grade officers with the US ARMY and nametapes on the wrong side. E8's with their rank on upside down. I think we all have either goofed with the velcro patches or corrected someone who did and we all move on. Hardly worthy of the 670-1 Gestapo getting their panties in wad.

Thanks for your comments Sarge! Always hated the new velcro attachments! The old BDUs were so much easier!! Seems like there is a Uniform Gestapo out there!!

So the Shirt isn't normal could be one of the fire resistant ones, as for the Patch could be a few things the one that jumps out to me is the old pull someone's patch off and slap it back on upside down to see how long till they notice. We use to do that with peoples name tapes all the time. Its funny... well till someone gets called out by an O then its hilarious.

Thank God for blue slacks and either a light blue shirt with a name tag over the right shirt pocket, or either a short sleeve or long sleeves - the other option for a shirt was a dark blue long or short sleeves. Once under way and weather permitting we could ditch the “shirtl. And wear a unit Tee Shirt with the Cutter’s name and shield. Our underway footwear varied from day to day depending on the job at hand. Steel toed boots or Low quarters; Corofraram shoes were prohibited following the USS STARK Incident,

In the Marine Corps they used to have Iron on Eagle Globe and Anchors for one's cover and Left Brest pocket. The instructions were in Iorn on as well I have seen many Iron the Instructionsonto the Blouse. You can always spot a boot.

Is that t-shirt OD-Green or just the lighting? As my old TAC-Officer used to say: "That uniform looks like a Football bat.. fix it!

Do you get a combat patch for going to Kuwait?

They are no longer giving patches for Kuwait. Yes it is upside down and it looks as if he has the wrong undershirt also.

He may have earned the patch from a different deployment and the undershirt appears to be the fire resistant shirt used by aircrews and fuel handlers. They have a green tint to them.
