Can the Army extend a soldier past ETS date for pending Chapter 18 that hasn’t started?

You can but they don't, I was pending a Medboard when I finished an AGR tour. They wouldn't let me have another tour or re-enlist. At the same time they refused to have the Medical Board. I got a rating from the VA and shoved that down their throats. They retired me retroactive

Thanks for the response. I have a troop thats facing possible chapter with less then four months left til ets. As his nco, i feel that our COC is trying to screw him. His only concern is getting out exactly as his ets date because he has a job lined up already

As long as the separation is honorable, go to the VA and get a rating. Then file with the ABCMR Army Board for Correction of Military Records, be sure to file with the VA too. Worrying about your troops shows me you are an NCO
