Can the VA refuse to treat a 100% service-connected veteran citing their case as "too complex," and also refuse to outsource them for care?

I have a pretty 'complicated' medical case but the VA continues to refuse at times to even consult with me despite internal VA referrals for the consults. They also refuse to refer me to anyone who possibly CAN help-- or the Mission Act options don't have any providers for the care needed within hours of me. Then they refuse to cover many of the meds that outside specialists suggest, costing me >$3,000 per year out-of-pocket. Is this OK at any level and would anyone have any suggestions for how to get the needed care? This way preceeded COVID-19 issues but continues despite it. I've been told the doctors won't even agree to a telehealth or video health consult at the VA across a few departments and programs. I'd already involved a senator's office a few years back and have made almost no progress. Help, please?

Here is a fast way to get things done . Va # [login to see] . This call goes straight to a top dog of the VA who answers to The President Trump every day. They can and will help you.

COLD'N COLDER (NE/IN):Responding by personal article 4.) to the questions of SSgt. Lisa J. Markland "are you kidding" is just my rhetorical question of the situation. For VA,and most especially VA,has you covered as that is what puts the P in Patient Privacy.

You were right in contacting the Executive branch of government, but contact the office of Veterans Affairs, it’s a cabinet position

I walk in DAV office while they play games on the computer. Dav office is hardly available never in the office under staff.

The Office of Special Counsel (OSC.gov) is your better option. A lerrer or email to then works much faster than the white House. Get your Veteran organizations involved, your representative, or even your local new media. I am retired VA RN & a vet who knows how the VA can be. I have been reading their OIG website for about 20 years now & see what kind of complaints they get. The VA has poorly trained people in key positions. Often times their managers got the job b/c they were good at managing & have no idea what their workers have to do. And one can see people who make determinations could be in jobs for 10 years or more that have zero clue on how to do their job. They have been doing it wrong for that long. You never want to be the employee who opens your mouth about long term errors either. You will get in hot water. And despite the VA being the largest healthcare agency in the world, the veteran is often at the mercy of their local VA facility. If you can, see about going to another VA or even one in another state. I read of one case on the OIG site where a vet with liver failure was told he was going to die b/c he didn't qualify for a transplant. So for his final days he moved to another state to be close to family. When he registered at the VA there, they asked him why he refused a transplant, he was still healthy enough to get one. His original VA was going by that state's transplant requirements & not following the VA standard. He got his transplant by the way. Your VA should be sending you outside under the CHOICE program since they have nobody there to handle your case. How dare they just flatly refuse you.

Do you vote? [HINT: The Congressional Aids check voting records for two things: (1) Are you registered? (2) Did you vote in the last election?] If yes, gather your documentation, COPY IT and sent the copies to you Congressman/or Congresswoman. Also follow-up at you Congress person's local office. Call and make an appointment. Words don't do you any good, YOU NEED DOCUMENTATION!!! To repeat, YOU NEED DOCUMENTATION!!! I would make an appointment sometime after January 20, 2021.

Absolutely NOT!!! 100% means 100%!! They either have to treat you themselves or find someone who can. Talk to your love veterans service Officers about this!! Also, you actually can sue whomever denies your claim!!!

Weather they can or not...they do. Talk to the patient advocate... they will tell you the same thing in a more polite manner.
