The nearest liquor store is 1.3 miles away. Thus, I can run 1.3 miles without stopping.

Do you drink at the liquor store? You could run 1.3 miles to get booze, then stumble and low crawl 1.3 miles back.

SFC Mark Sutton - Good point. I can probably run a mile fast with a grizzly or polar bear behind me, might not make a difference but I'll be shooting something big at them when they get close.

I was shocked that I could still do 1 mile without stopping, but since I've recently started back running I'm not brave enough to try much more yet. I would like to gradually increase the distance. I'm really not pressed about the time just as long as I can do so without stopping or having a heart attack.

Marathon training guide recommends increasing by 10% a week, to allow the bones to adapt to the stress.

CPT Zachary Brooks MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca Cpl (Join to see) I will go a step further and say that I would pay to watch the Captain hauling the Major around a track, meanwhile Cpl Hicks and I would be in lounge chairs at the 19th hole, watching the shenanigans while having a nice glass and enjoying the cigars!

Now you see there... it is amazing what can be accomplished when like minded individuals challenge the status quo and effect change for the betterment of all...

I'm proud to say at 57 year old I can still knock out a mile and not need medical treatment afterwards.

O hell ya. Have to set the standard for the younger joes who tell me they cant or dont have time. Nothing burns me more than seeing a 19year old cross the line with a failing run time. On average I run 4.5miles 3 days a week.

Spoken like a true leader. I can't stand the "i don't have enough time with work/family/life" excuse. I have 2 children, 60+ hour a week career, put extra time in for the reserves than just once a month, and still find time to workout 6 times a week. Its a lifestyle choice that some need to finally make.

As a medical provider, I ask my patients if 30 mins a day worth it? Then I go on to say it is only 2% of your day. Your body requires an investment, if you want it to last. I use this as a gauge to see how motivated a person is about getting healthy.

I just dont get some of these new soldiers coming in. 3 months out of AIT and they can not pass a pt test. I got out for 6 years came back in and have passed every pt test. A little dedication goes along way. Needless to say I get those soldiers full time for the next little while. You better believe they are going to pass there next pt test.

Yes and yes. I ask my Airmen to run with me at least twice a week. We incorporate sprints, hills, longer runs and team building PT as well.

Sir, not familiar with Command PT. I have the authority to run PT for my flight and do so 3 times a week.

CMSgt Tom Qualls Chief, we do not do a wing run here. There has been some talk of it but no movement so far.
