There isn't anything saying you can't mix the patches. Most comments are personal preference. Yes, it doesn't look right, but there isn't anything saying you can't do it.

Still nothing saying otherwise. Still going off an info sheet that says "mix and match" all over it.

Quoted from ALARACT 085/2015:

5. (U) INSIGNIA AND ACCOUTERMENTS WORN ON THE ACU MUST BE OF THE CORRESPONDING CAMOUFLAGES PATTERN COLOR. THE BACKGROUND MATERIAL OF NAME TAPES, SHOULDER SLEEVE INSIGNIA, TABS, GRADE INSIGNIA, FORMER WARTIME SERVICE, AND SEW-ON BADGES WILL MATCH THE CAMOUFLAGE PATTERN OF THE UNIFORM.

That alaract wasn't around at the time of this posting. Good for you doing your research.

For the love of all things holy, I certainly hope you would not be able to mix ACU and OCP patches and uniforms! Gah...

Thank you for your responses. So do you think that the entire line of unit patches will be released simultaneously with OCP? I am in Air defense and not many of the units deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq so finding my unit and deployment patches in OCP/Multicam is proving imposible.

Yes I have looked everywhere online. My units have not ever been issued multivariate so the patches are not readily available.

SSG (Join to see) , none of your units have deployed in the last 3-5 years? If so, someone in Supply/S-4 has the POC on where to obtain your patch in OCP/Multicam. If not, they should be able to reach out to units that did for guidance. Usually this takes place during the mobilization process.

I'd look into the old BDU patches as they virtually match the multi Cam pattern if your unsuccesful in trying to find them.

Are we still allowed to wear the red white and blue flag patch or does that have to be subdued ocp as well? I'm referring to Garrison in the United States and not deployed abroad.

I have an ACU IOTV but OCP name tags and rank. Is there any milper message stated you can or can not mix those items? That's something I can not help

I have not read anything regarding mixing the patches. Patches are available for sale at several online retailers and range from 4 to 7 dollars. A young Soldier is going to spend 50 dollars or more prepping his uniform for wear. A Private's clothing allowance only goes so far.

Let's ask our fashion expert, SGT Earnest Lee Sincere. We're in the army for crying out loud, God forbid our color schemes clash!
