Yea he let him live to come back and regroup, like letting someone reload.

Assessing the situation is the best thing to do. Pulling the trigger isn't always the best decision.

No it's not always the best answer. But what's to keep him from doing this somewhere else or to someone less trained. Not sure how I'd react till actually in this situation. But pulling the trigger definitely get one more piece of trash off the streets and saves the tax payers some money

I thought the same thing. Let's end this violence, one robbery at a time! It has been shown that armed response can cause future robbers to shoot first and take the money later, instead of armed robbery with no casualties. It's hard to know what is the proper action, as not all stores have armed clerks.

I agree, disarm and hold for the police if able, sure he would have been 100% justified with sending a controlled pair of hollow-points into the crook's head or chest but this worked out well for all involved . . . EXCEPT for the next person to face that armed crook.

The crook wasn't ready that time, and because he survived and walked away it became a training event, perhaps he'll be a little better prepared next time and the store clerk will be on the losing end. Incompetence was rewarded here, and criminal activity was delayed at best.
