I went from USAR to RA in 2019. I was promoted to SSG 1 May 2018, however my DOR changed to 14 May 2019, which was the day I came into the RA. I have my 1506, DD 214 ( from USAR), and promotion orders.

Calculating effective date of rank for transferring from USAR to RA is outlined in the promotion regulation. Take your promotion orders to your S1 and have it adjusted to what the regulation says. Make sure your DIEMS on your SRB is correct

SFC Boyd is correct and I stand corrected below. Here are the rules for USAR soldiers "(c) USAR and enlists—
1. More than 12 months after discharge, the DOR of enlistment grade is the date of enlistment.
2. Within 12 months following discharge, the DOR will be adjusted to reflect the original DOR (of the grade in which
enlisting) plus elapsed time since discharge".

You are the type of NCO I would have loved to serve with. You are a go getter, and your wide and depth of knowledge is superior. You make things happen!

You should be able to find out from your S1. We sometimes had to petition the Board for Correction of Naval Records (BCNR) to make corrections to records.

When you go from Reserve (or National Guard) to Active Duty, your Date of Rank will reset to the day you entered Active Service. Your Date of Rank is correct.

SFC (Join to see) - Oh, there is about 2 pages of difference scenario's, this is the one that seemed to fit the situation. For example, for some reason unknown to me, National Guard going active at the same rank have 24 months instead of 12 for USAR. Better lobbyist, I guess.

SFC (Join to see) I had a conditional release done while I was on ADOS in the reserves to go into the RA. I spoke to my S1 and they said that my current DOR is what it is, even though I didnt have a break in service. I then spoke to a civilian HR specialist who gave me all the information that i need to get it fixed. Thanks you for your help.

SSG Zachary Kelly as long as you have the reg to back it up, you won't be wrong. Sometimes an inexperienced S1 will tell you the wrong thing because it's a situation they've never seen. I didn't find out about the prior service DOR rules until just a few years ago myself.
