Did murdered comrade Chris Kyle's life bring him to the forefront of history to represent many unknown, untold stories of other brave souls?

That's a good question HM3 I'm not sure. There are so many unsung heroes in this war as well as generations that came before it's difficult to say because there has yet to be a big push to fix the VA situation but it did bring some of the problems of Combat Veterans to the Forefront but I guess the question is what has been really been done about it.

Candidly speaking, I sincerely hope not.
Chris Kyle's story is seriously clouded with lies, innuendos, slander, and grand standing. His accomplishments as a Sniper puts him in the record books. His post-service actions of essentially throwing a fellow Veteran under the bus in order to sell his book is deplorable.

SSG Edward Tilton - You said, "I didn't know we had ""Record Books"."
With all due respect, sir, you have got to be kidding. Of COURSE there are "Record Books". If I ask you, "Which American Serviceman received the most medals in history?", the name Audie Murphy has to pop into your head at least briefly.
If I ask, "What was the deadliest battle in America's history?", if you don't think of Antietam, Battle of the Bulge, or Okinawa, you haven't been paying attention.
(Candidly, I would have said Antietam until I recently researched the question. Now I know it was the Battle of the Argonne Forest in WW1. And the fact that I learned that in less than three minutes is evidence to the fact that we DO keep record books.)
"We" have record books of any and everything you can think of. Longest pro basball game in history (Either Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago White Sox, May 8, 1984, or the Pawtucket Red Sox vs. the Rochester Red Wings, April 18/19, 1981). Longest field goal in the NFL (Matt Prater, Denver Broncos: 64 Yards (2013).
Sports, age, largest/fastest/oldest/youngest/slowest/smallest.... There are record books for everything you can think of (and some we probably can't and/or don't want to think of). So, yes, we do have "Record Books" for just about anything having to do with the Military, also.

I've heard this song before, for you it's medals and badges and how many "kills". It isn't a game.

SSG Edward Tilton - No, sir, I don't think it's a game.
It's a failure of our society that it makes a book and a movie about a man who kills people at long range a financial and box office success.
It's a failure of our society that we make that man out to be some kind of hero.
It's a failure of our society that so many people know what Hal Moore did because of the movie "We Were Soldiers", but precious few know what he said.
"There’s never been a noble war except in the history books and propaganda movies. It’s a bloody, dirty, cruel, costly mistake in almost every case, as it was in this war that would end so badly."
So, sir, please don't presume to say, or even think, that I view war as some kind of game.
It's not, and I don't!

I met more than my share of heroes in Vietnam. At all times avoid them, they were bound to do something stupid (like giving a gun to a crazy person), and could get you killed in the explosion
