Frank Gifford, a Hall of Fame running back and receiver who personified the Giants’ glory years of the late 1950s and early ’60s and then became the low-key play-by-play voice of ABC’s “Monday Night Football,” teaming with the contentious Howard Cosell and the country-boy presence of Don Meredith in a broadcasting team that became must-see programming for much of America, died at his home in Connecticut on Sunday. He was 84.

Capt (Join to see), My excuse is that I have Short stubby fingers and I can't see see which key I'm hitting. Not really, I just plain screwed up.

SGT (Join to see) He will be missed. Loved to hear him and Cosell and Meredith. My Dad just turned (84) this May. It makes me sad to think that he will be joining Frank someday as well.

SGT (Join to see) Sorry to hear that, but you are still going strong, so let's be thankful for another great day my friend. I'm just thankful that my Dad is still very sharp and is enjoying life.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, I am strong Sir. I don't have any unhealthy vises, except for chocolate ice cream. I plan on living into the 90's, unless God has other plans for me.

Another USC Trojan goes to join #55 Junior Seau on the great gridiron in the sky. A sad day.

I heard that, on the day of the NFL Hall of Fame Game. I was surprised. More surprising was hearing Kathie Lee's statement about his death not being sad, but not tragic because of the great life he had.
